Charity Podcasting
I’m excited about the prospect of developing a podcast series specifically for charities in Jersey. This platform would serve as a comprehensive resource, showcasing a podcast about every local charity, making it a one-stop destination for anyone interested in learning about these organizations. While many charities have their own websites and may even produce their own podcasts, this series offers an invaluable opportunity for those that don’t have these resources. Participating in the podcast allows charities to highlight their work, discuss their impact, and speak directly to donors, volunteers, and the broader community.
The episodes will be available on YouTube, providing a versatile tool for the charities involved. They can use the video as an induction resource for new staff, a detailed briefing for potential donors, or as promotional material for upcoming fundraisers and events. Once created, these videos serve as a lasting asset that charities can utilize to enhance their visibility and support their ongoing promotional efforts.
My motivation for launching this series stems from my passion for podcasting and interviewing influential figures about social change and impactful initiatives. As a change and project manager, I’m drawn to discussions that explore meaningful effects on our community and society. This project aligns with my professional skills and personal interests, offering a platform for meaningful dialogue and community engagement.
Below, you’ll find an example of a podcast episode I’ve produced. Although this particular episode is not focused on a charity, it provides a glimpse into the format and structure of what I envision for the series. Keep in mind, while professional podcast productions can be costly, involving extensive setup and post-production, our approach favours a more authentic and conversational style. This format is especially suitable for organizations seeking a cost-effective yet impactful way to share their story and mission.
This is my latest Podcast and an indication of what is involved….
ADAPTING TO CHANGE PODCAST Tim HJ Rogers and Dr Eve Poole OBE
Step 2 : edit zoom so it looks like a podcast (1 hour)
Step 3 : upload to youtube and review (1 hour)
Step 4 : once all OK and everyone happy switch to “public” (10 minutes)
So in summary the podcast takes 1 hour for the guest and less than 4 hours for me.
What can really help is being prepared, knowing what you want to say
